MS. KANDACE RECOMMENDS

Welcome, Swim Families!

These are products I personally recommend for my swim families based on what I use, what I like, and what I’ve found helpful while teaching children in the water.

When Should My Child Use These Products?

Some products on this page are appropriate during survival swim training, while others are only recommended AFTER a swimmer has completed survival swim and successfully passed their fully clothed test. I’ll clearly explain when I recommend each item as you browse.

SWIMWEAR I RECOMMEND

Disposable Swim Diapers

Disposable swim diapers are such an easy option for babies and toddlers during swim lessons. I especially love having these on hand because they’re convenient, easy to change, and there’s nothing wet to bring home and wash afterward. I always recommend keeping a few extras in your swim bag because you never know when you’ll need one!

Reusable Swim Diapers

Reusable swim diapers are a must-have for my littlest swimmers! They fit snugly and comfortably without becoming heavy or bulky in the water, and they’re washable and reusable. For the best protection, I recommend using a disposable swim diaper underneath a reusable swim diaper. Using both layers provides extra protection and helps keep accidents contained and out of the pool. I also recommend keeping an extra set in your swim bag just in case!

Girls’ One-Piece Rash Guard Swimsuit

I really love this style for little girls because it gives them plenty of coverage without getting in the way of swimming. It’s comfortable, easy to move in, and the long sleeves are great for those long Florida pool days. Plus, one-piece suits make getting ready for swim lessons so much easier!

Boys’ One-Piece Rash Guard Swimsuit

One-piece rash guards are one of my favorite choices for little boys, especially during swim lessons. Unlike a separate swim shirt, there’s nothing riding up, twisting around, or getting in the way while they’re practicing their skills. It stays put, gives them great sun coverage, and lets them focus on swimming!

AFTER SURVIVAL SWIM RECOMMENDATIONS

For swimmers who have completed survival swim AND successfully passed their fully clothed test.

My Favorite Colorful Matching Diving Starfish

My kiddos LOVE practicing with these! They swim down to retrieve a starfish, come back up and practice their float (getting AIR & REST), then swim to the side to match the big and little starfish together. It turns practicing these important swim skills into a fun game they’re excited to do again and again!

My Favorite BIG Diving Gems

My kiddos LOVE diving for these big colorful gems! They’re great for practicing swimming down to retrieve an object, coming back up for AIR & REST, and then continuing their swim. I especially love the larger size because they’re easy for little swimmers to see and grab underwater. And of course, finding “treasure” at the bottom of the pool makes practicing that much more FUN!

My Favorite Diving Treasure Gems

I love throwing these colorful gems into the pool and telling my kiddos there’s TREASURE to find! They swim down to collect their treasure, come back up to float and get their AIR & REST, and then keep going for more. It’s such a fun way to practice going underwater, retrieving objects, and most importantly, remembering to come back up and use their float when they need a break!

Miscellaneous items

My Favorite Frogglez Swim Goggles

These are some of my FAVORITE goggles for little swimmers! The soft, comfortable strap stays in place without pulling or getting tangled in their hair, and they’re easy for kiddos to wear and adjust. I only recommend goggles AFTER a swimmer has completed survival swim and successfully passed their survival swim test. I want my swimmers to know they can safely use their skills and find their AIR & REST without relying on goggles first. Once they’ve mastered those skills, goggles can be a fun addition to swimming!

My Favorite Wet/Dry Bags

These are SO handy to keep in your swim bag! I use them for wet swimsuits, swim diapers, and anything else I don’t want soaking everything on the way home. They’re reusable, easy to toss in the wash, and perfect for keeping all those wet, messy swim things contained after a day at the pool!

My Favorite Kids’ Hooded Beach & Pool Towel

My Favorite Kids’ Hooded Beach & Pool Towel

I LOVE hooded towels for little swimmers! The hood helps keep kiddos warm and cozy when they get out of the water, and they can wrap the rest around themselves without it constantly falling off. They’re perfect for after swim lessons, pool days, or the beach. Anything that makes getting a wet, chilly kiddo dried off a little easier is a WIN in my book!
