I grew up in the Clermont area, where my family placed a strong emphasis on water safety and giving back to the community. Some of my best childhood memories are of being at the pool while my mother taught swim lessons, helping care for little ones and cheering on other children as they learned to swim. Over the years, I volunteered at countless safety events and programs like Kid’s College, where I discovered my passion for teaching and encouraging kids to feel confident in the water.
That early exposure shaped the way I see swimming, not just as a life skill, but as a source of joy and freedom when paired with safety. Now, as a parent, I’ve carried that tradition into my own family. I introduced my daughter to the water at just six months old, and today she swims with a confidence that makes me proud every time I see her in the pool.
For me, teaching swim lessons isn’t only about survival swimming skills and learning how to safely dive for toys, it’s about building trust, confidence, and respect for the water. I want every child to understand that swimming can be fun and exciting, but safety must always come first. My goal is to continue the legacy my family began, one student at a time, by empowering children with the skills they need to stay safe and enjoy the water for a lifetime.
